How to make a tiny Schultüte

A tiny Schultüte for a very special first day.

Make this little school cone for your Little Friend using just a few simple materials. A sweet handmade detail for celebrating the first day of school — and a tiny memory to keep.

Materials

Beige felt
Pink tulle or mesh fabric
Scissors
Sewing machine or needle and thread
Thin string or decorative twine
Glue gun
Small craft ornaments for decorating

Step 1

Cut the pieces

Cut the felt using the printable template. The felt piece measures 8 × 8 cm. Cut a rectangle of pink tulle or mesh fabric measuring 14 × 6 cm.

Step 2

Sew the tulle to the felt

Place the pink tulle along the curved edge of the felt and sew the two pieces together.

Step 3

Sew the cone

Fold the felt with the right sides facing each other and sew along the straight edge to form the cone.

Step 4

Turn and shape

Carefully turn the cone right side out and gently shape the tip. Arrange the tulle at the top and tie it with a small piece of string or decorative twine.

Step 5

Decorate

Now comes the lovely part — make it your own. Glue on a tiny leaf.

Step 6

Add the finishing touches

Add little roses, pearls or other small details.
